「濃いコーヒー」は「thick coffee」?ー「coffee」のコロケーション

「thick coffee」は「ドロドロなコーヒー」?
よく私たち日本人は「濃い=thick」で覚え、そのまま「濃いコーヒー=thick coffee」で表現しがちです。
というのも液体に「thick」を使うと、ハチミツのようにドロッとした感覚になるからです。

では、味の濃さに何を使えばいいかというと、「strong」が一般的です。
そのため、カフェなどで「濃いコーヒー」をお願いする場合は「I’d like my coffee strong.」で表現します。
またその反対で、「薄いコーヒー」は「thin coffee」ではなく、「weak coffee」で表現します。「strong」の反意語です。
